At the first time, I was really surprised
because can study exchange to Philippine. I am so happy when I heard that I was
pass for SEAMEO Exchange Students batch 6 in Philippine, I was wait it for long time when I was in second
semester in 2016. I am so grateful for all of the chance. First of all, I am so
thanks to Allah SWT, Alhamdulillah Allah give me chance to study in Saint Louis
University, Baguio City, Philippine.
All of my friends said I am so lucky
because Philippine is the most country that used English as a second language.
Actually my major is English department, I also believe that Philippine give me
new knowledge, experience, culture and attitude. Before I went to Philippine, I
am interest for their lesson plan and about how the teacher give effective strategies
in classroom. About my parents, they said that I have to made sure all of
things in Philippine should be important for me in the future, especially learn
about how to teach students further in Indonesia later.
I am so thank you for SEAMEO
who help us in one of program that really good and made us better to learn and
teaching experience. It is the first time for me to go to study aboard. The SEA
Teacher Project or the Pre-service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia
is one of forum that concentration on provide students ability to have teaching
experiences ( practicum) in the other countries school in South Asia. There are
a lot of program in SEAMEO, one of them is “ Revitalizing Teacher Education”
that program to improve education by strengthening capability of the teachers
in the region.
I was follow the orientation
session start at 08.00 a.m which be held bu Saint Louis University ( SLU). The
orientation is important session, because there are a lot of information that I
have to know and what I have to do during the programs. The orientation held in
Burgos Conference Room. For the first time I meet Ma’am Mary Grace Carrido
Baywong, Ph.D, who as a Director of External Relation, Media and Communication Alumni Affairs Office ( ERMCAA) of Saint Louis University. I also meet Dean of
School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts, Ma’am Felina P. Espique, Ph.D, Ma’am
Lagos, Ma’am Tessm Ma’am Majal Rani Espiritus, Ma’am Brenda as principal of
Bagio City Nationa High School and all of my buddies also cooperating teacher
from Baguio City National High School.
There were 10 Exchange Students
who participated and placed in Saint Louis University. All of participant come
from Indonesia and Thailand. Let me introduced my Friends. I am Mutia Dara
Authari, Annisa Faradisa and Rachel Sukma Fachila is come from Syiah Kuala
University. Annisa Faradisa and I is same major in English, and Rachel Sukma Fachila
is in Biology major; Putra Taufiqurrahman, Dara Aprita and Sukaina Adibi is
come from University of Bengkulu Putra and Dara is same major in English and
Sukaina in Chemistry major; Putri Riskiyani Amalia and Nuris Fattahillah come
from University of Jember and Putri is English Major also Nuris in Biology
major; Violanda is come from Padang State University, she is consent on
Chemistry and the last one come from Thailand, my friend Saowapark Loedmuang
from Rajabat University Thailand.
In the orientation day, we also see performance from SLU students and Bilo-Bilo for breakfast. We also sharing for Baguio City,
historical of SLU, Philippines Education system,etc. I am so grateful for all of this chance, Thanks Allah.
